Fully Feathered

Posted on Sep 10th, 2009 by Bird : Bird Bird
Heyoka's chest is nearly completely filled in with new, beautifully smooth yellow feathers.  I think it is the baths.  Or the broccoli.  Or the way I've got half the cage in the doorway so she can cool off with the fan.  It's a room away, but it gives her the option to stand where the air is moving.  When I put my fingers beneath her wings she is always so hot.

Maybe it's the way she gets me to send her chi. Maybe it's the chi moving.  When she came to me she was resistant to change.  It took nearly two years of coaxing to convince her to be open to me.  Unless a bird is ill, it usually won't accept chi.  Oh, birds like it, but they don't know what to do with it ... until they really NEED it.

Now Heyoka's finally getting it because I've shown her over and over and over and over in 10,000 ever-changing situations what is real and true.  Practice really does make perfect.

I wonder if anyone else has so many birds as you do, Beth! So–umm–Heyoka is an owl? Any photos? If you'd like to, you can share their stories at Love of Animals as well.

Lovin' your relationship w the feathered folk, Beth.  That you can be so in tune with Heyoka that you know when to send chi.  Amazing…  appreciating you so much.

Hi Meenakshi and Centria!  I know I have a lot of bird stories, sorry about the confusion … Heyoka is a blue macaw.  That's a great idea to send my stories to a group who would understand … thanks for the heads up!  Speaking of which, I've found a tai chi site where .. suddenly all my stories make sense!  Chi sense … now that Heyoka is “connected” to me, her requests get more refined as her trust deepens.  Thanks for the kind words….
